Modern Warfare 4 Season 1 goes live next week

Hot on the heels of its launch just last week, the team at Infinity Ward / Activision are already gearing up for the arrival of Modern Warfare 4 Season 1. Officially going live on the 6th of November, S01 will bring with it a not-so-insignificant number of additions.

Seemingly in an effort to get out ahead of Grand Theft Auto VI, Infinity Ward have announced that Modern Warfare 4 Season 1 will officially arrive in just over a week’s time, launching on Friday the 6th of November.

As with pretty much all Call of Duty games nowadays, Season 1 will flesh out MW4 with new additions across the board ( though seemingly less so than what was seen with last year’s Black Ops 7 ). Even so, there will be plenty to look forward to, including but not limited to :

Multiplayer

6+ new maps

Backstab

Canyon

Shoot House

Ministry (S01 Reloaded)

Overflow (S01 Reloaded)

“Additional [CLASSIFIED] maps” (S01 Reloaded)

New modes

Possession (Available now)

Infected

Grind

Drop Zone

Gauntlet 1v1

DMZ

New Location: Designation X01

New Orders / missions

Additional Intel

Player base enhanced with new functionality

Additional events

General

4 new weapons

Cronen Osprey [AR]

CSG-35 [SMG]

JAK 12 [shotgun] (in-Season)

ZLR Talonhawk [melee] (in-Season)

New attachments (in-Season)

Of course, Season 1 also brings with it a Battle Pass to grind, new limited time events, purchasable bundles and more.

As mentioned, compared to Black Ops 7’s post-launch support, Season 1 of Modern Warfare 4 does feel somewhat light. That said, given that Grand Theft Auto VI is set to arrive just a few weeks later, it is possible that Infinity Ward are saving some of their bigger updates for future seasons once Rockstar’s juggernaut has cooled down somewhat.
