Multiple companies are reportedly interested in acquiring Arkane Studios, potentially securing the future of one of gaming's most respected immersive sim developers. According to Bloomberg's Jason Schreier, Ubisoft and at least two other gaming companies have submitted bids for the Dishonored studio as Microsoft continues its efforts to divest several Xbox-owned teams.

Arkane was one of five studios Microsoft earmarked for divestment earlier this year as part of a wider restructuring effort. More recently, reports suggested the studio could face closure if a buyer could not be found. However, Schreier now reports that a sale is considered far more likely, with several interested parties making offers.

Perhaps the most surprising name among the potential buyers is Ubisoft. The French publisher is said to have submitted its own bid for Arkane, which is also based in France. Microsoft has reportedly considered several options, including the possibility of selling the studio directly to its management team, although no agreement has been reached yet.

The timing is particularly significant given that Arkane is currently working on Marvel's Blade, which was announced in 2023. According to Bloomberg, any deal would likely allow development to continue uninterrupted, with the game still expected to launch within the next few years.
